Live from Georgia: Sights and Sounds of our Orthodox Life in Eastern Europe
Starts Thursday December 14th - Book today!
This December and January, let Jeff and Deana Long guide your children and family to experience the sights, sounds and phronema (the mind and spirit) of Orthodox Christianity in Eastern Europe.
We spent 10 months in 2022-2023 living in Albania, Greece, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, visiting holy sites, and monasteries. We currently live in Batumi, Georgia off the coast of the Black Sea. Last month, we spent two weeks in Tbilisi leading up to their annual commemoration of 100,000 martyrs. What a beautiful and moving memorial. You can read about the experience in our newsletter here.
Each weekly session will include photos and stories that introduce you to the history, geography, architecture, foods and music of these countries:
Greece
Cyprus
Bulgaria
Georgia
Italy
The experience of venerating relics such as...
St Spyridon's incorrupt relics in Corfu, Greece
St Gregory Palamas and St Demetrius in Thessaloniki, Greece
And worshipping at these monasteries:
St. Neophytos Monastery on Paphos, Cyprus
St. John the Theologian Monastery in Souroti, Greece, venerating St. Paisios burial site.
Rila Monastery in Bulgaria
Bodbe Monastary in Sighnagh, Georgia, venerating St. Nino's burial site.
This series will culminate with vivid descriptions of our pathway to Pascha living in the ancient city Thessaloniki!
Each session will conclude with a Q&A time.
Classes are on Thursdays 9AM PST / 12:00 EST. Cost for the full series is $50 per student or family.
This will be an unforgettable experience, led by an engaging combination of teachers. We can't wait to see you!
